Our cookies are made with premium locally sourced ingredients with absolutely no additives or preservatives and every single cookie is hand made, hand weighed, hand rolled and baked fresh on site all day, every day – Can I get an Amen!?

where we started

An obsession with cookies, a love for baking and a dream to work with family is what lead us to start this chunky cookie journey together.

I (Kyra) have always had a love for baking since I was little and cookies have always been my favourite dessert (big surprise!)  My inspiration comes from Levain bakery in New York City. This place has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember because they are famous for their four super sized cookies.

where we WENT NEXT

Early 2017 I had an epiphany. I realized that there was a huge gap in the market for cookies. Everyone loves cookies just as much as they love donuts but there was not even one dedicated cookie shop Australia wide!! If I couldn’t afford to go to New York for cookies, I was determined to perfect my recipes and bring New York Style cookies to Perth!

We couldn’t afford to hire a commercial kitchen so when I first started selling my cookies at a little stall at the Fremantle markets in 2017, I was making all of the cookies in my little kitchen aid mixer at home and I could only bake 5 cookies at time in our tiny little oven. To my disbelief, we were selling out within 2 hours every Sunday.

where we ARE NOW

My husband (Dave) and I decided to join forces to see just how far we could take this together. We used our life savings and took a huge leap of faith. We opened Australia’s very first New York style chunky cookie shop in January 2018 and hit the ground running! My amazing mum and my brother in-law were able to quit their corporate jobs and were our very first full time employees. We now have 6 shop fronts and a kiosk, with a goal to one day open Get Chunky stores Australia wide.
